Firework Usage Hours & Safety Tips - Celebrate Responsibly in Warrenton
As Independence Day approaches, the City of Warrenton encourages all residents to celebrate safely and respectfully. Fireworks can be a fun part of festivities, but they must be used responsibly and in accordance with city regulations.
Permitted Firework Usage Hours - City Code Section 210.710
To ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, fireworks may only be used during the following times within city limits:

July 1, 2, and 5: 12:00 PM (noon) to 11:00 PM

July 3 and 4: 12:00 PM (noon) to 11:59 PM
Using fireworks outside of these hours is prohibited and may result in fines or other enforcement actions.
Firework Safety Tips
To keep your celebration safe and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these important safety guideline:

Always Read Instructions - Follow all directions on fireworks packaging.

Never Relight Duds - If a firework fails to ignite, wait at least 20 minutes and then soak it in water.

Keep Water Nearby - Have a bucket of water or hose on hand in case of fire.

Use in Open Areas - Only use fireworks outdoors, away from buildings, vehicles, trees and dry grass.

Protect Children - Never allow young children to handle fireworks. Older children should be supervised closely.

Dispose Properly - Soak used fireworks in water before discarding them in a trash can.

Be Respectful - Remember that loud fireworks can cause stress for pets, veterans, and neighbors.
